iFTPStorage 2.0 is now available on the iTunes AppStore. With v2.0 you can now decompress and view your zipped email attachments, print your PDF documents using AirPrint and with it’s new user interface it’s even easier to use.

In the following guide I will use FileZilla, because it is available for multiple platforms (Mac, Linux, Windows) and it has the same “look & feel” on all of them. I assume you already have FileZilla and iFTPStorage so I will skip the download and installation steps.
First of all you need to ensure that your iPhone/iPod Touch and your computer are both connected to your home network.
Open iFTPStorage and go to the “Settings” tab. If you are already connected to your wireless router, the ON/OFF switch for the FTP server will be enabled and your IP address will be listed.

Screenshot from version 1.1 (In v1.0 you won’t have a “Prevent Sleep” switch).
If you are not connected to your wireless router, the ON/OFF switch will be disabled and the IP address will be listed as 127.0.0.1 in version 1.0 or the label will say “Wi-Fi not available” in version 1.1.
You don’t need to close iFTPStorage and go to the “Settings” application to connect your iPhone/iPod to your network. iFTPStorage should display a popup with the available networks in range, or your iPhone/iPod will automatically connect to your network (if it is in range).

Ensure the switch for the FTP server is set to “ON”. Open FileZilla and enter the IP address listed in the “Settings” tab of iFTPStorage in the “Host” field in FileZilla. Type your username in the “Username” filed and your password in the “Password” field – the default username is “user” and the default password is “pass” (without the quotes). If you haven’t changed the port number you don’t need to fill that field.
From that point all you need to do is to press the “Quickconnect” button and you can transfer files from your computer to your iPhone/iPod Touch.
On the left are listed files and folders stored on your computer. On the right are listed files and folders on your iPhone/iPod Touch. If you are connecting to iFTPStorage for the first time the right view will be empty.
You can transfer files and folders from your computer to your iPhone/iPod by dragging them from the left view to the right. If you feel uncomfortable with the navigation in FileZilla, you can also open a file browser and drag files from there.

Version 1.1 of iFTPStorage is now submitted to Apple for approval. In this version you can delete/rename/move multiple files right on your iPhone or iPod Touch. Version 1.1 also features folder creation in iFTPStorage built-in file browser. Other improvements in the new version include a “Prevent Sleep” button in the “Settings” tab.
A bug not showing correctly the free space left on your device is fixed in v1.1. Thank you for reporting that bug!
Since I am now waiting iFTPStorage v1.1 to come live at the AppStore I started working on v1.2.
In v1.2 the major improvement will be support for the zip, tar, rar etc. file formats and I would love to add any feature reported by users in v1.2!
A BIG “Thank You” to all iFTPStorage users for the great ratings and reviews at the iPhone AppStore!
All of the upcoming updates of iFTPStorage will be free for the users who have downloaded it.
Here are some screenshots of the upcoming version (1.1):
